Sorry I haven’t been posting. I’ve been busy looking for a job, cleaning, and preparing for my little sister’s high school graduation.

Okay, so this technically isn’t in Houston, but it’s close enough! If you’re up for the 40-60 minute drive, you definitely need to head to the Kemah Boardwalk! Seriously, this place is really fun! I went here once as a little kid but I couldn’t really remember anything from it, so I’ll go off of my past two birthdays here!
Kemah has a ton of rides: Double-Decker Carousel, Ferris Wheel, Train, Wipeout, Boardwalk Tower, Red Baron (kid), Aviator, Balloon Wheel (kid), Boardwalk Bouncer (kid), Inverter, Drop Zone, Boardwalk Bullet, and my absolute favorite… Pharaoh’s Fury! Both times we got an All-Day Pass and got to ride the rides as many times as we wanted to! Along with rides, Kemah has games, souvenir shops, a play ground, an aquarium, and the dancing water fountains! Both times we went to the Stingray Reef and feed the stingrays! There are also little shops off the boardwalk that are fun to venture to as well. And during certain times of the year they have fun events and concerts going on that you should check out!
If you’re hungry they have food stands with snacks and drinks, but if you’re looking for a meal you can try Saltgrass Steak House, Joe’s Crab Shack, Cadillac Bar, Bayside Grille, Aquarium Restaurant, Lighthouse Buffet, The Pizza Oven, Landry’s, The Flying Dutchman, or Red.
I always have a blast here and I think it is totally worth the drive! And if you want to spend the night, book a room at the Boardwalk inn!

So if you’ve lived in Houston for a while then I’m sure you’ve been to the zoo, but if you haven’t it’s a cheap place to take your family or to go on a date. I mean, who doesn’t love looking at animals? I love all the animals in the zoo here, except they don’t have my favorite animal. =(
The Houston Zoo has a ton of animals, along with interactive activities and on some days special events! They also have a petting zoo and a few places to eat! If you go during the summer months, it’s usually pretty hot, so I recommend wearing light clothes and bringing some water. Oh, and the Houston Zoo will offer free admission to their guests on the first Tuesday of every month from 2 p.m. until closing. And just to add on to this, after Marco & I went to the zoo, we finished the night with Frank’s Pizza!

Looking for a good place to run or bike? Why not try Memorial Park! 1,500 acres of exploration and fun! While I’ve only been running and biking here, there are a ton of other things to do here: golf, tennis, softball fields, swimming, horse riding trails, soccer fields, volleyball, bird watching, fitness and sports communities. It’s a great place to go alone or take the family. It’s very relaxing and just a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle. I haven’t been here that many times, but every time I’ve been it has been fun.

So if you just happen to be downtown and starving, you should check out my favorite pizza place! It’s called Frank’s Pizza and it is some of the most delicious pizza that I have ever had! But if you’re not in the mood for pizza, no worries! They also serve lasagna, sandwiches, burgers and salads. And there are plenty of vegetarian options too! Seriously, you need to try this place if you haven’t! It’s not very expensive and on the weekends they’re open super late! Pretty much ever time we’re downtown, we go here! Oh, and they deliver too! Happy eating!

Since all my finals are done, I’ll be posting more stuff! Happy summer!
So today my friend put up a link on her Facebook to an event that looks really fun! IT’s called “Beach Palooza” and it’s going to be in Galveston, Texas on September 24th! I know that’s a little ways away, but registration goes up by $10 after August 14th, so I wanted to put it up in case people were interested! It’s a 5k obstacle course that’s just a good time, don’t worry about winning because it’s all for fun! If you participate you get a T-shirt, a cute pineapple hat, and if you’re 21+ you get a free Mike’s Hard Lemonade (sponsor)! I’m 90% sure I’m going to be doing this, so it’d be cool to see a lot of people there!
I’ll be posting some other things to do in Houston a little later, I’m cleaning my house right now. =/

The next thing on my list of stuff to do is only seasonal, but it’s one of my favorite things to do (besides church) on a fall Sunday; Houston Texans Football! Okay, so I know that some Houstonians are Cowboys fans, but this is a blog about things to do in Houston, so this post is about the Texans! I used to hate football, I always found it boring, but I guess that’s because I never understood it until high school. Now, I watch it every Sunday and I even go to a few games! I think this past season I got to go to three games! I’m so excited for this season but it is going to be tough! I really hope my dad lets me go with him to the Steeler’s game!
Anyway, I highly recommend going to at least one game (or more) and having fun! I don’t usually tailgate, but there is a lot of that going on if you’re into BBQ and alcohol. I know a lot of people complain about how our defense sucks, but every game I’ve been to at home we’ve won, so it’s a ton of fun!
The food in the stadium is pretty good, but like all stadium food it is pricey. The stadium is astounding and on a nice day having the roof open is a great feeling! And after the game if you don’t want to wait in traffic, feel free to stay after the game and enjoy the Texans Pep Band! Or check out the Go Texans Store!
I love going to the games and supporting the home team, but if you’re not a big sports fan then just ignore this post and hold on for more!

To start off my list of things to do, I’m going to start with a place that I spend at least one weekend out of every month at, and that is the Showboat Drive-In in Hockley! My boyfriend and I are hooked on this place! If you’re looking for a fun and economical time on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night, this is the place to go! They have two screens and both screens play a double-feature each of the three nights. Though the drive might be a little far if you don’t live near by, it’s a great place to try out at least once. The concessions are reasonably priced and they offer a variety of items. Some items include burgers & fries, chicken strips, popcorn, candy, ICEEs, fried brownies, and much more. Both screens have a playground where parents can let their children play before the movies start, but you must keep an eye on your kid. You can either sit in your car, the bed of your truck or feel free to bring some lawn chairs and enjoy the fresh air and starry sky. It gets chilly sometimes, so I recommend a jacket or blanket! If you want to know what’s playing, they have it listed on their website or you can call their phone number and a recording will tell you the movies that are playing. This is really a fun place to have a night out with friends, go on a date, or take your family! I highly recommend it and I really hope to see you there! Get there early though to get a good spot! See you at the Showboat!
